FiO₂: Fraction of inspired oxygen (room air is Atmospheric pressure (typically 760 mm Hg at sea level)
PH2O: Water vapor pressure in the lungs (typically 47 mm Hg at 37°C)
PaCO₂: Arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide (from an Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) test)
R: Respiratory quotient (normally assumed to be 0.8)
PaO2-arterial partial pressure of oxygen (from an ABG)
